NIXON, Doris L. (nee Ostendorf) 73 passed away peacefully at her home on November 24, 2012 in St. Peters, MO surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.

Doris was born in Addieville, IL on April 19, 1939 to Orwin and Luella Ostendorf who preceded her in death.

Doris was married to her former husband Nick Nixon on October 2, 1959. Music played a large role in Doris’s life. She enjoyed dancing and was employed for many years at MCA Records. Listening to her talented children and grandchildren brought her such enjoyment. Watching sunsets over the pond and hosting gatherings for family and friends at the farm and at her home were her favorite times.

Beloved mother of Paul Bryan (Carol) Nixon, Suzy (Rick) Alexander, Sandy (Lanny) Harris and Lori (Ken) Wolz, loving grandmother of Ricky (Kacie) Alexander, Johnny Alexander, James Harris, Patrick, Danny and Ben Wolz,Rachel Nixon and Heather (Jon) Hoy; great-grandmother of Kenley Alexander. Dear sister of Betty Meszaros and Bob (Ruth Ann) Ostendorf; aunt, cousin and friend to many.

The family will then receive friends at the St. John United Church -Christ, 9971 Plum Hill Church Rd., Nashville, IL. 62263 on Thurs. Nov. 29 from 10:00 A.M. until Funeral Service commencing at 11:00 A.M.

Interment St. John UCC Cemetery.
